As a small, nimble company, Kindred Hydro is well-suited for small residential and commercial projects that need on-site stormwater management assessment and design. We have refined our procedures and methods to provide responsive and cost-effective services and solutions that meet the requirements of the permitting agency and the needs of the land owner.
With expertise in both surface water and groundwater, Kindred Hydro specializes in addressing water-related permitting issues associated with site development. Examples include evaluating potential downstream impacts on streams, wetlands, flooding, and groundwater seepage.
Kindred Hydro has conducted numerous infiltration assessments for residential and commercial properties in the City of Seattle. We have developed cost-effective exploration and testing methods that are specifically designed to comply with the requirements of Seattle's stormwater manual with minimal disturbance to existing sites. We work closely with civil engineers, architects, and homeowners to support design and implementation of stormwater management systems, including projects using the on-site list approach.
Stormwater infiltration using dug drains and infiltration wells is often an effective method to reduce stormwater detention requirements and can provide significant cost savings compared with vaults and other expensive detention facilities. Smaller detention facilities reduce land requirements for stormwater management and freeing up space for other uses.
We have conducted over 50 basin-scale desktop infiltration feasibility assessments for cities and counties in the State of Washington. These assessments produce geographical information systems (GIS) layers and maps that can be used to evaluate potential stormwater retrofit locations and support site-specific screening-level stormwater assessments.
